In 1999, the chemical belt of Gujarat witnessed the birth of Goyal Group of Industries that started as small plasticizer unit in Nandesari, near the industrial town of Vadodara. Today, it has evolved into one of India’s leading manufacturer of Chlorination, Nitration, Sulphonation, Ethoxylation, Hydrogenation, Ammonolysis, Methoxylation, Electrolysis and Oxidation/Neutralization processed products. An emerging leader in the chemical market, the group caters to sectors like agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, dyes, plasticizers, pigments, fuel additives and specialty chemicals, both domestically and internationally, with an annual turnover of over USD $ 350 million (2021-22).

PIIPL was set up in 1999, Jhagadia, Gujarat to capitalize on the proximity of nearby Chloro-alkali plants. Gaining easy access to its raw materials, chlorine and hydrogen, through direct pipeline has allowed PIIPL to become a market leader in manufacturing of chlorinated aromatic compounds & hydrogen based products

KUTCH CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES LTD.

With an aim to focus on export market potential, KCIL was founded in 2004 in Gandhidham, near the international all weather ports, namely Kandla & Mundra. Today, it has developed into a well integrated chemical complex, consisting of Chlorination, Nitration, Sulphonation and Ethoxylation processed products. Currently, it is engaged in setting up of its first Nitric Acid plant with capacity of 18,000 MTPA.

Maintaining a clean environment is a commitment at the Goyal Group of Companies. All our units are strictly complying with guidelines of Pollution Control Board. The Jhagadia and Gandhidham plants are rated as ‘Zero Discharge’ units. Hydrochloric acid generated during Chlorination Process is used to produce value added products namely Chloro Sulphonic Acid and Calcium Chloride.

At Panoli Intermediates (India) Pvt. Ltd. Natural Gas is used for power generation to replace Fossil Fuel based energy. Our Sulphuric acid plants located at Gandhidham and Nandesari are set with advance technology whereby it generate more steam than conventional norm, which in turn used for Power Generation & process requirement of other plants.

The Multi Effect Evaporates are installed at Gandhidham, Nandesari & Jhagadia plant to recover water from liquid effluent and recycle back into the plant.

As a part of commitment towards the clean energy, Windmill of 5.5 MW and Solar Plant of 4 MW are installed.

SAFETY, HEALTH POLICY

SHE - INITIATIVES

To meet the management objectives related to Safety, Health and Environmental commitment, each unit has further worked out their methodology for its implementation.

The Units had got for Environmental Management System as per ISO 14001:2004 standard and Occupational Health & Safety Management System as per OHSAS 18001:1999 specification from SGS India Pvt. Ltd. The Core teams have been constituted for implementation of Management systems & procedures. Suitable training programmes have been arranged for employees to develop attitude & approach and got ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:1999 accreditation in January 2007.

Towards Safety, Health and Environmental dimensions, we have initiated various actions, some of which are highlighted as under:

  • SHE Policy has been evolved and Safety Committee has been constituted for its successful implementation.

  • The fuel for the Captive Power Plants has been switched over from green house gas generating fossil fuels to clean Natural Gas for meeting the power requirements at Jhagadia and Nandesari plant facilities.

  • Occupational Health Centre has been made fully functional at all the three plant locations for the benefit of the employees.The services of a doctor have been tied up to meet the requirement of plant facilities.

  • Enhancing the green belt area is in progress at all the reporting units.

  • Canteen facility has been arranged for the benefit of Employees and Contractors at all plant sites.

  • Action has been initiated for developing the Clean Development Mechanism Projects at Gandhidham and Jhagadia units.
